January 4th

Weight- 203
Today was weight day. I did three circuts of 10 reps each. I don't remember exactly how much weight it was though. I felt pretty good and it was nice to be home a little bit earlier. Baxter seems to have a sixths sense about when I leave. He wakes up every morning just after I leave, so poor Shane is tired and starting next week that's not going to be good.
As for my eating I didn't do so well. I guess I didn't do horrible but I did have a couple of cookies before bed. Other than that I did pretty well.
Shane and I read a scripture chain on professies about John the Baptist. I don't think I ever realized just how many proffessies there are about John the Baptist. Even in the Book of Mormon.

January 3rd

Weight 203
For my work out today I went to the gym and ran on a tredmill. I went 1.8 miles in 30 min. Not fast but it was a work out that's all I'm trying to focus on right now. It's tough getting up at 4:20 AM to go but I'm determined to do this so I'll make it work!
I got groceries and made sure to get lots of fruits and veggies and I looked at all the labels to see what the calories were.
I read Matthew 1 tonight. While reading I thought a lot about Joseph and he must have felt. He was such good man. Every time you hear about him in the scriptures it's about what a good man he was. He was such a good father and husband, and he was so strong and faithful.

January 2nd

Weight- 205
Today was fast Sunday so I didn't have breakfast or lunch. For dinner we had steak, mashed potatoes (I kept mine separate with minimal butter and no cream cheese), breadsticks, and mixed veggies. I kept it down to one helping of each then had a 100 calorie fat boy for dessert. Later I had another breadstick, some hot apple cider (my new favorite snack, only 8 calories!), jerky, and some pineapple.
I did study part of the Sunday school lesson for next week. It's on Luke 1. I studied about when Gabriel came to see Mary and told her that she was going to be the mother of Christ. I can't imagine having an angel come and tell me that I'd "found favor" with God and would bear his child. Mary was an extraordinary woman and was worried at first but then said, "behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto be according to thy word." She didn't think about what it would mean, she just said ok, I'm here to do what needs to be done. I need to remember this and do what's asked of me without asking why, or worry about what it's going to mean later on. Unwavering faith that's what it is and what I need.

January 1st

Weight- 206
Ate pretty well today. Ate 1540 calories, with most of it good healthy food.
Didn't excersize though. We were gone all day, we went to Heber and then Tremonton.
Didn't study my scriptures either, new goal is to read and study every day the Sunday school lesson for the next week. Doing pretty well. Determination still high!

New year new me!

Now 203 lbs ( this pains and disgusts me)
Then 165-GOAL

I am starting 2011 off with a new goal to loose 35pounds by August! I will do it this year! I have signed up for a gym in Logan, and I am tired of not feeling good about myself. I am going to count calories and record it every day! My sisters-in-law are working on goals as well, so we are going to have a reward for ourselves if we can meet our goals by August. My goal weight is 165, which was my weight when I met Shane. Looking back at pictures from our engagment and wedding really helped give me the motivation that I need. I'm going to buy me a scale and weigh myself once a week and report how much I've lost, or gained.

My work out schedule will be Mon., Wed., Fri., going to the gym for cardio, running or eliptical for 30 min. Tues and Thurs will be weights. Saturday's will be light work out at home and Sunday's will be my rest. I know that you need rests during the week but I need to keep a strict schedule so that I can stay motivated and so I can get up and go. I have to get up at 4:30 in order to be able to make it to the gym before Shane goes to work.

It's going to be a crazy year with a lot going on but we're going to make it! I am grateful for the support of my family and their willingness to help me with this goal.

I will try to write on here every about what I ate and what I did to work out. Any suggestions on food or workouts would be appreciated. Here I go!!!

Skipped out

I skipped my work out on Friday to go out on a date with my wonderful hubby! My little sister Stephanie came over with my parents and watched out kids for us so we could use one of our 2 gifts cards we got for Christmas. It was the first time since out anniversary last June that we've been able to go out by ourselves. We went to Olive Garden and then went shopping at the mall. I know not Shane's ideal date but I was in desperate need of some new pants, plus JcPenny was having a great sale so we bought Baxter new clothes and some clothes for Luke and Landon. And their coats were on sale so we decided to grab some for our kids for next year. We paid $20 and $15 for $60 and $70 coats! I was so excited to be able to get them already. We had a great night together and are so thankful to Stephanie for watching our kids for us!

Endorphins

I feel like I'm so slow, but I'm new to this and I'm still trying to get back in shape. I ran again tonight. I made is 2.1 miles in 29 minutes. My shins were hurting really bad so I didn't want to go terribly fast because it just made them hurt worse. I also did some arm work with a 5lb weight and so my arms are pretty sore tonight too. I have been feeling so much better in terms of mood though. Even Shane said to me tonight, "you're much happier when you exercise." Wow I knew I'd been kind of grumpy and hadn't really been myself but I feel bad that my family even noticed a difference. Now Shane is realizing that he hasn't exercised in a week and he's feeling pretty grumpy. Here's to feeling better!
